Based on feedbacks we received during our inaugural Career Development seminar, we have invited Attorney Mr. William Soo Hoo of the Law Offices of William Soo Hoo P.C., to cover certain immigration work authorization related legal issues.

Mr. Soo Hoo will discuss areas of:

• F-1
  • Eligibility and duration- selection of a school from the ICE list and admission on the basis of a SEVIS I-20
  • Work authorization and the role of the DSO
• H-1B 
  • Eligibility and duration- want is a specialty occupation/offered position and when does 6 years of visa eligibility run out
  •   Visa /status exempt and non visa/status exempt classifications
  •   Who qualifies as an H-1 employer  Department of labor (DOL)
  •  What is a prevailing wage as opposed to an actual wage and which one  must be reported to the DOL on the LCA)
• O-1 Extraordinary ability Visa
•  J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa
